Missed the conference? Not to worry! CASH is excited to launch a new series showcasing the recorded presentations from our 2024 Conference, centered on the theme of Community. These sessions, featuring speakers from sport heritage institutions across the country, will be released throughout the year to align with significant commemorative days in Canada. All the recordings will be available here after being released in the series.

About the Session: 
Explore how to create more accessible and inclusive environments for individuals with sensory disorders and sensitivities. Gain practical strategies to make your spaces welcoming to all.

Speaker Bios: 
Meggan Gardner has worked for Golf Canada for 20 years and is currently the Director of Heritage Services. As the President of the International Sports Heritage Association and a mom of an ASD child, she is passionate about accommodating people with learning and developmental challenges in sports spaces. Lyndsey Stevenato is the owner of Lyndsey Stevenato Children's Therapy Services and an Occupational Therapist with certification in Sensory Integration. She brings decades of experience in child therapy and developmental challenges.

Join this interactive session where sport halls of fame across Canada share their challenges, brainstorm solutions, and inspire new ideas for the upcoming year.

Speaker Bios: 
This session is facilitated by Vickie Krauss, CASH VP Membership, who has been a key member of the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame team since 2014, and currently plays an integral role as their Administrative Assistant/Education Coordinator, bringing both innovation and enthusiasm to the Hall's educational offerings.

Comic Book Literacy Program 

About the Session: 
The Aurora Sports Hall of Fame's "Heroes of the Hall" comic book project celebrates the determination and resilience of Hall of Famers, while preserving sports heritage. Distributed to schools, hospitals, senior centers, and libraries, it engages the community and inspires youth. Learn how this initiative was developed and its positive impact to date.

Speaker Bio: 
Kristen Dajia is a retired educator and co-founder of the Aurora Sports Hall of Fame. Recently inducted into the Cobourg and District Sports Hall of Fame, Kristen has led innovative education programs that make sport history accessible and fun. 

Moving Collections & Renos + Active Collecting 

About the Sessions: 
Learn about the challenges and successes of moving collections and renovating facilities from experts at the Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame and BC Sports Hall of Fame. Then, dive into active collecting practices with the Saginaw Sports Hall of Fame. 

 

Speaker Bios: 
Katie Tanner, CASH VP Communication, is the Museum & Communications Manager at Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame, specializing in collection management, programming, and exhibit redesign. 
 
Shane Mailman, CASH Past President, is the Director of Programs & Operations at Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame, with over 25 years in the sport heritage industry. 

 
Jason Beck, CASH President, a renowned sports historian in BC, is the Curator and Facility Director at the BC Sports Hall of Fame. He has led numerous major gallery projects, including the acclaimed Indigenous Sport Gallery.  

 
Shelby McCannel, CASH Secretary, has led the digitization of the Indigenous Sport Gallery and focuses on inclusive storytelling at BC Sports Hall of Fame. 

 
Jeffrey Cottrell from Saginaw Sports Hall of Fame specializes in active collecting, ensuring ongoing relevance and community connection through the collection of artefacts and memorabilia.
